What is the difference between plant fill light and ordinary lighting?

1. The purpose of using plant LED light and ordinary lighting is different. The plant LED light is to meet the growth needs of plants, and the main goal of its design is to enhance the photosynthesis of plants, rather than just provide light. Ordinary lighting is mainly for human lighting and decorative environment.
2. The spectrum of plant LED light and ordinary lighting is also very different. The spectral design of plant LED light is based on the needs of plant photosynthesis, and its spectrum has full spectrum and red and blue spectrum. The full spectrum is mainly 400nm~720nm light band, and the red and blue spectrum of plant growth LED light spectrum is mainly concentrated in the red and blue bands. The spectrum of ordinary lights is more dispersed and is not optimized for a specific band as is the case with plant fill lights.
3. The light intensity of plant fill light and ordinary light is also very different. The light intensity of the plant LED light is often greater than that of ordinary lamps. Because plants need more light for photosynthesis, and humans' lighting needs are much lower than plants'. Professional plant LED light is usually able to provide PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) light, which is an important indicator to evaluate the light needs of plants.
4. From the point of view of energy consumption, plant LED light and ordinary lighting are also very different. Professional plant LED light its spectrum is more concentrated, can be effectively used by plants, so its energy efficiency is higher. The spectrum of ordinary lamps is scattered, and a large part of the light is useless for plants, so the energy efficiency is low when giving plants light.
In general, plant LED light and ordinary lighting in the purpose of use, spectrum, light intensity and energy consumption are very different. Therefore, if it is used to grow plants indoors, choosing a special plant fill light will be a better choice.
